Preschool Program (9am–3pm)

Our preschool program in the Marri Room supports children aged 3–5 years as they prepare for a confident and positive transition to primary school.

 

The program runs from 9am to 3pm and is thoughtfully designed to balance learning, play, and wellbeing within a nurturing environment.

School Readiness Through Play-Based Learning

Learning in meaningful, age-appropriate ways​

Our preschool program supports early literacy, numeracy, and problem-solving skills through play-based learning. Experiences are designed to encourage:

  • Early numeracy concepts​

A Calm, Structured Day

Supporting focus, wellbeing, and routine

The 9am–3pm preschool session provides a predictable, structured day that supports children’s ability to focus, engage, and feel secure. Clear routines help children:

  • Build stamina for learning​

  • Transition confidently between experiences​

  • Feel calm and supported throughout the day

​

This structure closely mirrors the rhythm of a school day while still allowing flexibility and play.

Our Curriculum 

Belonging, Being & Becoming in the Marri Room (3–5 Years)

 

Our Marri Room learning program follows the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and is guided by the principles of Belonging, Being and Becoming.

These principles are thoughtfully embedded into our preschool program to support children aged 3–5 years as they build confidence, independence, and a strong foundation for school and life.

Belonging

In the Marri Room, belonging is nurtured through strong, respectful relationships with educators and peers. Children are supported to form friendships, develop a sense of identity, and feel confident being themselves within a safe and inclusive environment.

Educators take the time to truly know each child, their interests, strengths, and emotions, ensuring every child feels valued, heard, and connected.

 

Being

Being in the Marri Room means giving children the time and space to explore, play, and learn in the present moment. Through play-based experiences, group interactions, and meaningful routines, children are encouraged to express their ideas, develop social skills, and enjoy learning with confidence.

Children are supported to make choices, problem-solve, and engage in experiences that reflect their interests while feeling supported and secure.

 

Becoming

Becoming in the Marri Room focuses on supporting children as they grow into confident, capable learners in preparation for school. Our program supports the development of social and emotional skills, communication, independence, and resilience.

 

Through gentle guidance and encouragement, children build the skills they need to transition to formal schooling feeling confident, capable, and ready for their next chapter.
